The Lands End Hill Climb proved to be a huge success despite the flury of obstacles thrown at it from all sides. The Club fielded 45 entries and the racing was as close as it's been in years. Road conditions were acceptable considering the amount of loose gravel that remained on it all weekend long.
The varying conditions proved a challenge for both rookies and veterans alike who battled a blue groove one minute and a flury of pebbles going into the next corner. Overall fast time of the weekend posted by Jimmy Olson (by a scant .03 seconds!) was only out shined by our Club's veteran racer Jay Stewart who after 35+ years of CHCA racing finally scored his first WIN! We had no idea Jay didn't already have a shelf full of First Place trophies and it couldn't have been more deserved.
What a great day for Jay and all the competitors who made it a point of supporting this great race. Plans are already in discussion for making 2011 even better! Race results to be posted soon.
