Welcome to the Colorado Hill Climb Association

Take some time and browse the new web page including the Racer Spotlight and Club Business Corner below as well as last years Champions listing, a CHCA History page, an ongoing Finish Results page and a few other things to come. The Club Business Corner is where you will find all those last minute updates from Trudy so you'll want to check in there regularly for official notices. For what's happening at a glance check the CALENDAR!

The Lands End Hill Climb proved to be a huge success despite the flury of obstacles thrown at it from all sides. The Club fielded 45 entries and the racing was as close as it's been in years. Road conditions were acceptable considering the amount of loose gravel that remained on it all weekend long.

The varying conditions proved a challenge for both rookies and veterans alike who battled a blue groove one minute and a flury of pebbles going into the next corner. Overall fast time of the weekend posted by Jimmy Olson (by a scant .03 seconds!) was only out shined by our Club's veteran racer Jay Stewart who after 35+ years of CHCA racing finally scored his first WIN! We had no idea Jay didn't already have a shelf full of First Place trophies and it couldn't have been more deserved.

What a great day for Jay and all the competitors who made it a point of supporting this great race. Plans are already in discussion for making 2011 even better! Race results to be posted soon.

This Month featuring: Earl O'Maley

 Hi I’m Earl O’Maley

My Dad loved everything to do with automotives and I helped him work on things as a kid. Then when he started racing I fell in love with it and have been involved with racing in someway ever since. Thanks Dad!

My mom and dad let me race when I was 14 in the Junior class. I was Junior class champion for 4 years and set some records. I also raced in CHCA’s gravity race and in the ice races on a quad in the bare tire and studded classes. I also raced for a year out at El Paso County Speedway on a quad.

After I was too  old to race in juniors I started helping my brother with his racing adventures. I then started on my own effort in ’05 when I brought Katie to her first race and got her hooked- like my dad did for me. In February of ’07  Katie and I got married and she started working on the CHCA Safety team. Whenever I can I get back in my car and feel that thrill of speed!
